Stewart's Caring Place prides itself in the fact that it collaborates with many organizations and makes every attempt not to duplicate services. Following are just a few examples:

Since the American Cancer Society closed its local offices, our partnership in service to those with cancer has greatly expanded. Stewart's Caring Place provides an office, meeting rooms and support staff to the local ACS Patient Navigator and assistance to other ACS staff. We house and co-program the Man-to-Man Prostate Cancer Support Group. Many of the ACS programs are also housed at Stewart's Caring Place, such as ‘I Can Cope' and ‘Look Good…Feel Better'. Additionally, the Stewart's Caring Place Resource Library is considered the regional library for ACS.

We co-sponsor the Blood Cancer Support Group with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at Stewart's Caring Place and host monthly teleconferences for blood cancer participants through seminars provided by the Lymphoma Society.

Our relationship with the medical community is key to our success, including joint activities with the four major hospital systems: Summa, Barberton, Children^s and Akron General. The hospitals, urologists, oncologists, radiologists, dermatologists and family doctors provide us with many referrals. Pharmaceutical companies provide us with educational materials and speakers.

We coordinate activities and refer participants to other local organizations to satisfy some of the participant's other needs that are not part of our mission, such as financial assistance, drug programs and cancer screening. Some of these organizations include the Cancer Club in Cuyahoga Falls, Hospice, Camp Quality, SaraHouse Ministries, Tallmadge Cancer Relief Association and The Griefcare Place.

We also work closely with many organizations in an effort to utilize each other's resources, such as local nonprofits, chambers of commerce, universities and religious institutions.
