Jeannine Marks - Executive Director
Jeannine and her husband Steve Marks launched the Akron Marathon in 2003 with a family foundation with the mission of promoting health and fitness and to bring national attention to the region. The event is currently the largest Marathon Relay event in the United States. Jeannine is a life long Akron area resident and a graduate of the University of Akron. In addition to her board seat with the Akron Marathon, Jeannine presently serves on the board of Summa Foundation, Children's Hospital Leadership Team for Haslinger Hospice and Palliative Care and Girls On the Run leadership team. She has served on many boards and continues to chair and work on philanthropic endeavors in the community. Jeannine and her husband have three children; Wyatt, Mackenna and Brady.
Fran Hughes - Administrative Assistant
As the Administrative Assistant, Fran is responsible for Facility & Vendor Management along with other various administrative duties. Fran was hired at Stewart's in June 2014. Fran lives in Green with her husband Eric and has two adult children and a pet tortoise named Quincy. Fran enjoys exercise, hiking and reading.
Meghan Christy - Children's Program Coordinator
Meghan graduated from Ohio University in 2014 with a Bachelor's Degree in Child and Family Studies with a focus in Child Life. She comes to us with several years of experience working with children and a background in non-profit work. Meghan previously did work for Make-A-Wish as a Wish Program and medical Outreach and Referral Intern. As the Children's Program Coordinator, she will focus on planning and facilitating programs for children and teens, as well as, reaching out to schools and other community groups to expand our children's program.
Kristen Thornton, LISW-S - Counselor
Kristen provides individual and couples counseling at Stewart's Caring Place for families touched by cancer or who have experienced a loss due to cancer. In addition to individual sessions for adults and children, Kristen facilitates the Coping with Cancer program, Support for Family and Friends groups, the Grief and Loss Support Group, and co-facilitates the Breast Cancer Support program.
Stephanie Davis-Dieringer - Program Director
Stephanie is a graduate from the University of Akron. She has many years of for profit and non-profit program management experience. As the Program Director, Stephanie plans cancer support services, and works with professional facilitators and community partners to deliver programs at Stewart's Caring Place. She is and avid volunteer in the community. Stephanie resides in Copley with her husband Greg.
Lisa Young - Director of Operations and Finance
Lisa is a graduate from the University of Phoenix. She has many years of accounting and medical industry experience. As the Director of Operations and Finance, Lisa oversees the day to day operations of the agency. This includes comprehensive HR and staff support. She lives in Copley with her three children. Lisa is an avid volunteer in the community, she enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.
Jacqui Sukie - Volunteer Coordinator
Jacqui Sukie is our Volunteer Coordinator, responsible for recruiting and scheduling our over 100 volunteers in their many roles. An active volunteer throughout the community for many years, she was also a volunteer coordinator for a public radio station. Her passion is running, and was proud to be recruited in 2015 to join Team Fox, the athletic fundraising branch of the Michael J. Fox Foundation. She and her husband Tom Davis live in Akron with their rescue dog Sadie.
