General Cancer Support Group
Mondays: December 16, January 20, February 17, March 17, April 21
6:00pm – 7:00pm
Our General Cancer Support Group was created for people diagnosed with any type of cancer who are interested in meeting others for mutual support on their journey.
Please Note: This group is intended for cancer patients only.
Caregiver Support Group
Mondays: December 9, January 13 & 27, February 10 & 24, March 10 & 24, April 14 & 28
6:00pm – 7:30pm
Providing care for a loved one with cancer can be emotionally and physically challenging. This group provides education and emotional support for those that are helping someone with cancer. To maximize the benefit of support for the group, consistent attendance is appreciated.

Spirituality & Cancer Group
Thursdays: December 19, January 2 & 16, February 6 & 20, March 6 & 20, April 3 & 17
9:30am – 11:00am
This group is open for those who are interested in exploring and talking about spiritual issues and how they relate to coping with cancer. Meetings are twice monthly on the first and third Thursday of the month.
This interfaith group is co-facilitated by Eileen Schonfeld, RN, and Lin Barnett, MDiv.
Grief and Loss Support Group
Tuesdays: December 10, January 14, February 11, March 11, April 8
An ongoing support group for adults who have lost a loved one to cancer. This group will provide participants time to share with others, gain empowerment and education, and be surrounded in a supportive environment.
Facilitated by a hospice representative.
Finding support among other women with ovarian, cervical, and other female-specific cancers can be an important part of the survivorship process. Facilitated twice monthly by a nurse, this group is dedicated to supporting other women through their journey with gynelogical cancer.
Facilitated by an oncology nurse.
A journey with lung cancer through a personal diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one is a challenging time both physically and emotionally. Join Sally Olszewski, RN, Lung Nurse Navigator, for this monthly group to receive support, education, and to have your questions about lung cancer answered.
Prostate Cancer Support and Education Group
Wednesdays: December 11, January 8, February 12, March 12, April 9
7:00pm – 8:30pm
This group provides education and promotes emotional support to assist in the prostate cancer recovery process.
Support persons are also encouraged to attend.
Breast Cancer Support Group
Tuesdays: December 10, January 14 & 28, February 11 & 25, March 11 & 25, April 8 & 22
6:00pm – 7:30pm
The Breast Cancer Support Group is for women touched by breast cancer including newly diagnosed individuals, those in treatement, and those that have completed treatment. This group provides a warm community of education, emotional support, and a time to share your concerns.
An oncology nurse and licensed clinician facilitate this important resource group.
Renal Cancer Group
A support group for anyone experiencing kidney cancer. Call 330.836.1772 for dates and times.
Facilitated by cancer survivor, Donna Moore, RN.
Art Therapy Group
Tuesdays: March 18, April 15
Art therapy can be an important part of the healing process for individuals who are looking for a creative outlet to help them cope and express their emotions. In this program, adult participants will learn ways to incorporate are into their healing journey. No art experience is necessary.
Led by board-certified, registered art therapist and clinical counselor.
Teen Recreational Group
Fridays: December 6, January 10, February 14, March 14, April 11
6:00pm – 8:00pm
A group for teens (ages 13-18) who have been touched by cancer. This therapeutic recreational group will give our teen participants an opportunity to socialize with other teens and provide a venue for healthy discussions. This group will meet at SCP and also enjoy occasional nights out in the community.
