HEALING ARTS

Asian Bodywork
Shiatsu and Asian Bodywork have been effectively used to support the healing process during and after cancer therapy. Treatments are performed fully clothed and do not involve needles. Drawing on the body-mind and holistic healing systems of the East, Shiatsu?s meditative combination of acupressure, manual techniques and passive stretching can be catered to one?s condition and/or symptoms, and optimized for comfort. 30-minute sessions.

Massotherapy
A 30-minute, fully-clothed, individual massage, which will assist with pain reduction and relaxation.

Reiki
A Japanese energetic healing modality restoring energetic pathways and creating conditions for greater health, wholeness and vitality. 45-minute sessions.

Polarity
The hands-on science of balancing energy currents in the body to restore natural health and relaxation. Wear comfortable clothing. 30-minute sessions.

Foot Reflexology
The ancient art of reflexology utilizes pressure applied to ?reflex? points on the feet, which correspond to various body parts and help stimulate the body?s self-healing powers. Come ease your stress during our 30-minute sessions.

Tuning Fork Therapy
The theory behind tuning forks is that emitted sound waves promote self-healing, deep relaxation and restore mind and body balance. Tuning forks may also reduce stress, muscular tension, spasms and pain. Tuning forks have also been known to transcend individuals to higher levels of consciousness and enable one to access deep, spiritual insights. 45-minute sessions.

Meditation/Relaxation Techniques - Your Soul Has a Voice
Come join us for a relaxing and refreshing hour of visual meditations, group processing and the opportunity to get in touch with your creative spirit. Sessions start the first and third Monday of each month from 10:30am to 11:30am.

Art Classes for Adults
Come experience relaxation, creativity, spirituality and healing through creative activities with Nancy Nierman Baker, PC, ATR. No talent or experience is necessary, just a willingness to participate, learn and explore your artist within. Materials will be provided. Family members welcome.

MOVEMENT

Tai Chi
Help yourself open up to release stress and tensions. Focus your mind on wellness and ways to renew your energy, using gentle motions and exercises. Bring soft shoes and wear comfortable clothing. Now meeting every Wednesday at 5:00pm - please join us!

Yoga
This gentle exercise will increase your energy and improve muscle tone and flexibility. Please bring a yoga mat and towel. A limited number of mats are available upon request.

This American Cancer Society program is offered by a licensed cosmetologist and helps women who are undergoing cancer treatment learn new techniques in the use of cosmetics and skin care products.

Wigs & Scarves 101
Everything you need to know about the selection and care of wigs, as well as other options, such as turbans, hats, sleep caps and utilizing scarves in creative and fashionable ways. Join Dee Curry.

Mindful-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Sessions
Mindful-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a well-defined, systematic, educational and focused intervention, which helps cancer participants, family members, friends or co-workers with meditation techniques, yoga and self-assessment skills that can be applied in everyday life. One of the goals of MBSR is to manage physical and emotional pain. This eight-week course will help you to become attuned with your body, increase self-awareness and learn how ?to be? in the present moment. Join Andy Davis, MSEd, PCC on selected Wednesdays from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. This will be a closed class (drop-ins will not be permitted) and pre-registration is mandatory. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Check calendar for dates.
