Jeannine Marks – Executive Director
Jeannine has been involved with Stewart’s Caring Place in some capacity since its inception in 2004. She is passionate about the cause and has loved seeing the community embrace the agency as it continues to grow in participant numbers and geographic reach. She serves on numerous boards in the community and is a lifelong resident of Akron. In her rare spare time, she enjoys running; so much so that she and her husband Steve (aka the Muffin Man) founded the Akron Marathon in 2003. She has three mini muffins, Wyatt, Mackenna, and Brady, and is one of ten siblings.
Amanda Crowe – Program Coordinator
Amanda joined Stewart’s Caring Place in the summer of 2020. She comes to Stewart’s with close to 20 years of experience with multifaceted educational programs and diverse studio art instruction. Her teaching evolved into an intuitive process of helping children and adults discover and uncover needs of the inner self by taking creative risks. She holds a degree in Art History from Kent State University and an Elementary Education degree from Thiel College. Amanda lives in Canton with her three sons, three dogs, and military husband.
Kari Djonne – Operations & Outreach Coordinator
After completing an internship with Stewart’s Caring Place, Kari officially joined the team in late summer 2019. She will complete her Bachelors of Exercise Science in spring 2020 from the University of Akron. She is originally from Connecticut and enjoys going back to spend time with family and friends.
Rosemary Federico – Receptionist
Rosemary began volunteering with Stewart’s Caring Place in 2008 and became a staff member in 2015. She has assisted with almost every aspect of the agency from chairing the past holiday boutiques to participating in the committees for both the Hope Walk and Butterfly Gala. Rosemary enjoys spending as much time as she can with her three children and three grandchildren, especially during the holiday season (her absolute favorite time of the year!)
Fran Hughes – Administrative Coordinator
Fran joined the SCP team in 2014 and is responsible for facility and vendor management, processing donations, and other various administrative duties. Her favorite part about her work is seeing participants leave after a program or service with a smile on their face. Fran enjoys exercise, hiking and reading, lives in Green with her husband Eric, and has two adult children and a pet tortoise named Quincy.
Colleen Iacianci – Director of Development
Colleen joined Stewart’s Caring Place full time at the end of 2019; however, she has been involved with the planning of the organization’s largest fundraiser, the Butterfly Gala, since 2014. Colleen has a development and hospitality background and loves being part of the SCP team because she can see the impact of her work every day when participants stop in for counseling sessions, yoga, support groups, wig fittings, and more. She is active in the Akron Rotary Club, has three dogs all named after rock stars (Joplin, Jagger, and Collins), loves biking the Towpath with her husband Mike, and is a self-proclaimed foodie.
Beverly Major, LPCC-S – Counselor
Beverly (Bev) graduated from the University of Akron with her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She joined SCP in October 2017 and feels passionate about providing support to those whose lives have been touched by cancer. Bev considers it a privilege to work with the participants and appreciates their willingness to trust her with all they are experiencing on their journey. In her spare time, Bev enjoys spending time with her best friends; daughter, Katy, and two rescue dogs, Poppy and Tilly.
Bobbie Martucci – Director of Volunteer & Family Services
Bobbie’s connection to Stewart’s Caring Place is a personal one. Her family was touched directly by a cancer diagnosis; they became participants and were supported by the SCP community. After a yearlong internship with the agency and graduation from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Human Development and Family Studies, she joined the staff officially in 2017. Her day to day job includes managing and overseeing over 200 volunteers. She is always looking for those who feel inclined to donate their time and talents to benefit the organization. Her favorite part of working with SCP volunteers is learning about everyone’s passions and stories. Bobbie was born in Nebraska but is happy to call Akron her home.
Blue Marks – Chief “Pawject” Manager
Blue joined the team as just a young pup in 2017. He works like a dog, arriving at the paw-fice bright and early in the morning and committing many hours to doing his job paw-fectly. His responsibilities include greeting of participants and staff, ordering office supplies (mainly milk bones for himself), and creating smiles. He enjoys long naps and short walks. His favorite movies are Harry Paw-ter and the Sorcerer’s Bone and Jurassic Bark.
