We’re thrilled to introduce Dr. Joe Blanda as the honorary chair of Hope Walk Takes a Hike. Dr. Blanda is a recently retired orthopedic surgeon with a desire to continue to help others. By describing simple activities, he hopes to invite people to realize the health benefits of nature. Dr. Blanda and his family experienced the battle with cancer as he lost his son to Glioblastoma brain cancer in 2015. Nature helps Dr. Blanda deal with that loss and motivates him to share his experience. Through his website, www.nature-canheal.com and Facebook page he shares resources and ideas to encourage people to get closer to nature.
