Honorary Chair

We’re thrilled to announce Dr. Joseph Blanda as our honorary chair of the 2021 Hope Walk Takes a Hike!  Blanda’s son, Joe was diagnosed with an incurable form of brain cancer called glioblastoma at age 17 in October 2012. Blanda and his wife Dr. Michelle Blanda helped Joe start Blast Glioblastoma, to raise dollars for brain tumor research. Joe Blanda passed away in October 2015 at the age of 19. Nature helps Blanda deal with loss and through his website and social media, he shares resources and ideas to encourage people to get closer to nature. Blanda is a recently retired orthopedic surgeon.
