Participation Policy Statement
Use of Programs and Services
Stewart’s Caring Place provides a compassionate community of support and education for individuals and families touched by cancer through supportive care programs and services at no cost. Our intent is to provide a safe environment and programming that is helpful and beneficial to those involved. We expect our participants to discuss concerns with appropriate staff and we recommend consulting with a physician before taking part in physically-based programs or therapies. Stewart’s Caring Place reserves the right to refuse or to discontinue its services to any person.
Healing Arts Therapies
Healing arts sessions are provided for the purpose of stress reduction and relaxation. Healing arts sessions are not a substitute for medical or psychological diagnosis and treatment. Our professionals do not diagnose conditions nor do they prescribe any substances at Stewart’s.
Stewart’s staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors do not recommend or endorse any specific treatment, physician, or medical facility on behalf of the agency. Materials housed in the Library do not necessarily reflect the individual opinions of Stewart’s staff, volunteers and Board of Directors.
While Stewart’s takes every effort to keep participant information private, we cannot guarantee confidentiality relating to participation in services. Information about participants is shared among Stewart’s staff and select volunteers for the purposes of supervision, program planning, professional collaboration and assessments or compliance in legal mandates.
Hold Harmless Waiver
